Dr Nicole Plummer is a lecturer in Cultural Studies in the Institute of Caribbean Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Education, The UWI, Mona. Her current research areas and publications explore Caribbean food heritage / culture and their implications for climate just and sustainable futures; food heritage and wellness in the context of post-colonial legacies; food and popular culture in the Caribbean. She also studies Jamaican history, folk culture and popular music and film with implications for post-colonial realities and gender-based violence. She is a member of the Caribbean Foods for Climate Justice Research Group: https://caribbeanfood4climate.com/; a Research Cluster on Black Wellness and has worked on several grant proposals and conference committees. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in food studies, cultural studies and film studies and supervises a number of post-graduate students.
