Copenhagen Admiral Hotel is housed in a more than 200-year-old grain drying magazine from 1787. The place and the building on the waterfront have been the center of fantastic and significant events for centuries. The waterfront was already teeming with activity back in the 18th century. The warehouse was the heart of shipping to and from all over the world.
The house has witnessed and survived a large number of events over time. The fire at Christiansborg broke out in 1794. Among the Copenhageners who lost their homes in the fire was also the royal family, who were subsequently forced to move from Christiansborg to Amalienborg. This resulted in a neighborhood between the warehouse and the royal family that exists to this day.
The "Battle of the Nest" took place in 1801, so to speak, outside the windows of the warehouse. Just 6 years later, the building witnessed the relentless bombardment of Copenhagen by the British.
Today, the Admiral Hotel stands out as one of the capital's most modern and distinctive hotels. The maritime atmosphere and the buzz of history still sit in the house's solid wooden beams and raw brick vaults.
This specially negotiated rate for the Food Studies Conference participants is available until 27 September 2021. To make a reservation at the New York Marriott East Side, click on the "Book Your Accommodation" link, and in the promotions section enter code: CGNGRP

Babette Guldsmeden is the first Copenhagen hotel outside what has traditionally been our comfort zone of Vesterbro…
We´re loving it here, the location is just as unique in a completely different way. The building, with all its charming nooks and crannies is a pleasure to be in, and we´re very proud of the orangerie in particular, linking the two parts of the house. The courtyard to the back is a little oasis, and with the coloured strings of lights and our comfy couches it´s a wonderful place to unwind.
Babette Guldsmeden is probably the one of our hotels with the most details, so make sure to take a walk around the premises!.
Luxurious simplicity, happy hostmanship, an unpretentious atmosphere and uncompromising sustainability are our guiding stars.
Babette is located in historical Copenhagen, close to major attractions such as the Royal Palace and the Little Mermaid. Kastellet, just across from Babette, is a beautifully preserved 16th century star fortress, that still houses a church and a lovely old windmill.
Babette has a charger for electric vehicles available in the courtyard.
