Professor Pearl Yueh-Hsiu Lin has been involved with the hospitality industry for more than 30 years. After graduating from National Taiwan University, she studied for her master's degree at the University of Oregon, USA. She then worked with leading hotels in Taiwan for several years before she pursued her PhD from Oxford Brookes University, UK. Having been educated in Asia, America and Europe, Dr. Lin has a broad view of the style and content of hospitality and tourism education crossing three continents. As an active researcher, she has published in leading journals and authored a number of textbooks in both the Hospitality and Tourism fields. In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Lin has applied her professionalism to assist with industry improvements. For instance, she was appointed as Board Director for the Promised Land Resort & Lagoon – ranked as one of the top 100 resorts in the world, and Yamay International Development Co., which has recently developed the largest mall and amusement park in central Taiwan. Dr. Lin enjoys serving as a bridge for academia and industry, whereby she may provide her expertise to benefit both parties. Dr. Lin is passionate about education and strives to inspire all students. Recently, she has focused on upgrading her university’s technology to increase efficiency and provide more than 5,300 students and 160 full-time and 200 part-time faculty members a better learning environment.
