Pre-Conference Tour: Wine Production + Wine Cellar

Visit an organic and sustainable vineyard in the hills outside Rome at an enchanting location with a fantastic landscape. During the visit, you will be able to observe the vineyard at its best time—the fall season—and learn about the family who has always taken care of the lands. A guided wine tasting will be given by the owner inside their wine cellar. Transportation will be provided to/from the vineyard.

Pre-Conference Tour: Food Industry Visit - Made in Italy Beer

Visit an industrial production of a famous Italian beer. For the past 170 years, this beer has been linked to the history and tradition of Italy. A story of quality, sustainability, tradition, passion and talent that has conquered the world. The visit will consist of visiting the factory, a walk among the historical archives, and exploring the interior museum. Transportation will be provided to/from the factory.

Pre-Conference Workshop: Studying, Teaching, and Doing Research on Food Studies in Italy

Gustolab Institute is pleased to offer a Pre-Conference Workshop on Food Studies.

During this interactive meeting, educational agencies and institutes who are involved in education and research initiatives in the food and wine field will present on topics ranging from study abroad programs, culinary schools, master programs to internship programs. Different solutions and proposals will be presented for professors, students, researchers, or independent scholars who want to study and research food systems, nutrition, the Mediterranean diet, distribution, and communication towards sustainable farming for biodiversity conservation through an interdisciplinary approach involving food. The material will range from the social sciences to human, technological, biological, and agrarian sciences.

Romeo intends to propose something simple and different. The restaurant's menu is the perfect meeting point between traditional Italian cuisine and Chef Christina Bowerman's creative dishes. As one of the few Italian women chefs to have achieved a Michelin star and several other prestigious awards, Chef Bowerman's boundless vision of imaginative dishes mix with distinct and recognizable flavors to make this an unforgettable dinner.
